Fear, Bravery and Courage. A Pathway to Freedom.

22/05/2018 by Jo Solomon Leave a Comment

Fear. Such is the speed, power and contractionary nature of it that it doesn’t once pause long enough to pause, feel and wait to sense the potential for something good to arise from facing what’s on offer.

It can’t.

Fear will always run, freeze or fall.

Fear will always convince us that something is unsafe, shouldn’t be tried, or isn’t real. It’s entire job is to keep us safe.

That’s fantastic if our life is really threatened. However, our lives in this modern world are rarely in mortal peril like this.

So fear in our modern world has become a prison, fully  guarded where we are held captive. creating a type of “safety” for us in the form of smallness. We play it safe, no need to challenge ourselves. The price we pay for this safety is that we don’t grow into the fullness of self expression and capacity given at birth. And mostly, we don’t even know it.

Inside our self constructed prison we become convinced of its safety and reality. So much so that we become unconscious that we are living in a shell of fear. It becomes our normal and we can’t see it.

That is, until the Soul pushes up for freedom and we start to experience stress, anxiety and depression in ways we can no longer ignore. We become restless and agitated, easily frustrated and never content.

To find freedom from this a different energy needs to come in to provide that potential.

At first, as youngsters we try using armour for protection when we feel frightened and vulnerable. The face of Pride has been offered and accepted. It help us face up to whatever it is that’s coming at us. We practice and practice utilising this new armour, feeling strong and invincible we go out in to the world of our mostly unconscious fears. It works well. So well that we adopt it as part of us and let it fully convince us with its feelings of inflation, power, strength and invincibility. We even begin to hold on to it with fierceness and determination.

Until our soul pushes up again and cries for authenticity and realness. It cries to know itself as the experience of Love. Fear and Pride are not Love.

The call to action of the Soul.

The call back Home.

So it comes to pass that we must part with Pride and try a new way.

Often we have no choice in this. We get knocked down by life and fall in some way. The jolt when we hit rock bottom shocks us into a new reality where we can start to perceive that a new way to be in the world is needed. We don’t yet know what that is or how to become it.

It is the place where we take off the armour, dropping it totally and we start to walk towards that which is scary in ones fullest, most vulnerable and truly authentic state. Fully exposed and raw.

Courage has just been met.

And as a companion on a journey into new frontiers we can find no better as we pick our self up and take the first steps.

It is only then that the illusion of fear crumbles. It’s non Truth is exposed the very moment we drop our prideful protection and we humbly face our greatness.
